Head Office staff member Daryl is going to be raising money for a charity close to his heart, Stand Against Violence by taking on the National Three Peaks challenge. Below, in his own words, he explains why.
“Myself and 9 of my friends are taking part in the National Three Peaks Challenge on 8th and 9th August. This involves climbing the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden), which is an ascent of over 9,800 feet, all done in under 24 hours (this includes the travelling!).
“We are doing this to raise money for the local charity Stand Against Violence, to commemorate ten years of great work by the charity. This is a charity very close to me, as it was set up after the murder of my friend. Stand Against Violence is a specialist violence prevention charity which is focussed on educating young people about the consequences of violence, helping them realise that they are accountable for their actions.
More information on the charity can be found here: http://standagainstviolence.co.uk/
“If you do wish to donate, please just follow the link, and don’t forget to include gift aid! It will be very gratefully received.
